This new technology has many useful applications in staff management but fingerprint data is also known as 'Special Category' data under GDPR and special rules apply to the data they collect.

All businesses, regardless of size, must be able to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal obligations in relation to Data Protection. Failure to do so may result in prosecution by the Regulator leading to severe fines, which even for small businesses have amounted to tens of thousands of pounds.
Business owners must make themselves aware of their responsibilities under the Regulations. They must take the prescribed actions or pay a professional to do it for them.
The SHIELD Academy range of courses saves both money and time for business owners who by attending the courses can make their businesses self-sufficient, legally documented and demonstrably compliant.
